BBuffalo will process the following expense claims for contractors travelling to a temporary workplace.
You can claim the following allowances to reimburse reasonable meal and accommodation costs incurred on company business.
Day subsistence can be claimed according to how many hours you are at work inclusive of travelling time.
If you work for over 5 hours, you may claim £8 per day.
If you work for over 10 hours, you may claim £12 per day.
Hotel, Bed and Breakfast
London and within the M25 up to £125 per night (maximum)
Elsewhere up to £95 per night (maximum)
Friends and family allowance
When an overnight stay is necessary in the performance of your duties, but you are able to stay with friends or family rather than a hotel, an allowance of £25 per night may be claimed to pay the host for the cost of accommodation and meals. A receipt from the host must be produced.
Personal incidental expenses allowance (PIES)
When you are staying away overnight a claim of £5 per night in the UK and £10 per night overseas is allowed to cover incidental expenses such as dry cleaning, newspapers etc.
Please note, hotel and other accommodation costs may only be claimed at or near a temporary workplace and never near a permanent workplace.
